So I know it’s been a while since I bought my Scarlett 2i2 and in September 2015 I said that one day I would do an honest review of it, well finally that day has come!
In September 2015 I made the jump from using my old usb Bluemics Yeti to the amazing Audio Technica AT2035, however due to the fact the AT2035 is an xlr mic I needed a way to use it and with so many methods and brands available I looked to Focusrite.
The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is a sleek, compact and portable audio interface featuring two Focusrite preamps with hybrid input ports for xlr or ¼” jack connectors making it the perfect companion whatever you use.
Some of you may have noticed that from time to time I tend to go a little distant and sometimes I’m not seen or heard from for days or even weeks, so I wanted to explain why…
As you may or may not know I suffer with a range of mental health problems, the main one of which being my depression however I also live with anxieties as well and I have noticed over the last few months my anxieties have become a huge issue, even more so than previously.
With added stress from meetings that I attend on a regular basis I have been struggling to cope with all of my personal issues which caused me to suffer my biggest breakdown so far, due to this I decided to take a break from recording and also try and distance myself from the internet whilst I get myself back together.
Some of you know I find it difficult to discuss my feelings and so on however I have decided to seek professional help via my doctors with the aim of learning how to better deal with issues and get proper support.

Today I will be launching my first YouTube “let’s play” series know as, “Slightly Modded Minecraft” and I thought before it all kicks off and goes live I might as well speak a little about it and explain why… Slightly modded?
Over the years I have become a huge fan of Minecraft and I have actually been playing it since before 1.7 (which was a while ago now) however I’ve found myself becoming a little tired of vanilla Minecraft pretty fast and with 1.7.10 being the most modded version I started at the right time.
For example: Vanilla Minecraft (non-modded) seems to lack a lot so it’s usually fine for a few weeks/months then you’re usually done, however with Modded you can play for months and months and still find something new to do!

Some of you may know that my audio setup runs an XLR microphone and as these can’t just simply plug in to your PC via a cable, they require a device to manage it which is why I used to use a focusrite scarlett 2i2 audio interface.
The 2i2 interface is basically a desktop soundcard that takes the xlr mic cable input and feeds into the PC via usb, however while it does the job absolutely fine I felt it was rather limited to one job… Powering my Audio Technica AT2035.
But what if I wanted to control game audio or music? The Focusrite can’t do this and right now, neither can my Mackie but eventually with some future projects it will.

Over the last few days I’ve been seeing more and more people discussing AdBlock and trying to encourage others to use it as well, I’ll be honest I’m not 100% against the software however some use it to it’s fullest capabilities and this is affecting people like myself…
Firstly you need to understand what AdBlock is, as well as what it does!
AdBlock is a “content filtering” and “ad blocking” extension which allows users to prevent page elements, such as advertisements, from being displayed and whilst this has no imediate affect on the users it can and does have a huge affect on content creators that depend on the revinue created from the ads being displayed.

Firstly for those that may not know, KevFaheyVlogs is my main YouTube Channel where I currently upload all of my Vlogging videos.
However over the last few months or so I’ve been monitoring all of the stats from each video as well as the channel as a whole and some of the stats make for bleak reading, with overall views and subscribers on the up however… Ad revinue the lowest it has ever been since I started out.
Obviously I haven’t been pushing to record daily vlogs but let’s be honest, I’m a gamer with minimal income so most of the uploads were rare and more of a personal nature with only a few uploads being gaming related.
